This half term the topic is called ‘I wonder’, which has a Science focus. We will be exploring similarities and difference between sounds, identifying how sounds are made, as well as investigating patterns in sounds volumes.
In Maths over the term, we will be looking at:
In English we will be learning to: use a range of powerful vocabulary to describe, use paragraphs consistently to order information, check our own and other’s writing for mistakes, particularly in punctuation and then edit our own writing. Our key text is ‘The Firework Maker’s Daughter’ which we will be using to learn about how to show how a character feels, use speech and to describe settings.
In Guided Reading we will be practicing reading fluently and accurately out loud, as well as summarising the main ideas from a text. We will learn to answer questions about the text in detail by retrieving information from the text.
In our Core Skills curriculum we are focussing on ‘Learning with others’.
