Binley Woods Primary School is a single form entry school for pupils aged between four and eleven. The school is situated on a very large site and our extensive grounds enable the children to learn in different environments including our woodland. Inside we have a library and ICT suite, music room and cooking area, and an art and design room.
We make full use of the extensive grounds and spaces on our doorstep. We take very opportunity for our children to learn outside the classroom and our curriculum provides children with real opportunities to apply the knowledge and skills they have learnt in meaningful and relevant contexts. We start with what the children know already and find out from them what interests them so that we can build that into our provision, hooking them in so that they are engaged and keen to learn more. We encourage children to challenge themselves and support them in this so that they embrace it and are not worried when things get tricky. We believe this supports them to make the best progress and helps prepare them for the challenges they will meet throughout their lives.
We place great value on the 'school family' and our children work and learn together in many different ways, through partnerships across year groups and phases. This ensures our youngest children develop confidence and a sense of belonging which grows as they get older into a keen sense of responsibility towards themselves and others. We believe that everyone contributes to our school's success and that the well being and achievement of every child is at the heart of all we do.
Woodlands Pre-School at Binley Woods Primary School offers high quality pre-school provision for children of Binley Woods and the surrounding area. Woodlands is part of an integrated Foundation Unit at school enabling us to provide continuity for children throughout the Foundation Stage. We offer places for 24 children in their pre-school year.
Due to our location, children move on to a range of secondary schools in Warwickshire and Coventry at the age of eleven. However the majority move to schools in Rugby including Bilton School, Harris School, Lawrence Sheriff and Rugby High.
If you would like to know more, please contact the office to make an appointment to look around and meet the staff and of course, our children.
